Wechsle die Sprache zu Deutsch

Both of these pictures are actually from August. The first was taken on Helgoland during a day trip I took with my family in early August. We only had 4 hours on the island, so I took every opportunity to take a picture. This little bird I almost missed since it was so small, and we already walked for some hours. Luckily, I found it and could take some pictures before it ran off.

The second image represents my summer habit of going out during the bright daylight to take pictures of insects in the local botanic garden.

This little one reminded me of an AT-ST walker from the Star Wars Universe. Both in the body style and the way it walked on the beach reminded my strongly of the walker. Actually, this is a chick of the ringed plover and was born in August and on the north beach of Helgoland. These are common on the North Sea island and are hatching on the beach in secluded areas. Many islands rope off areas to protect them during their breeding time from June to September. Usually, these areas are also off limit for tourists, but this one was walking around on a part of the not restricted beach so I could photograph it.

This is a common brimstone which is generally like to photograph during the summer. In Göttingen, there are two botanic gardens and the new one in the north is very open, attracting various butterflies, many wild bees, and many more insects. Since insects are numerous in summer, I usually like to spend some time getting close to them and photographing them in detail. Especially with a handy macro lens and a flash, I like to go out and see what I can find sitting on some beautiful flowers.
